(This letter was not published in the NWCC weekly bulletin. We believe it was a private letter to individuals.) As part of the three options mentioned in that letter, we continue our discussions with another denomination regarding the possibility of sharing their church. In due course, the Bishop will make a formal announcement and let you know his plans for the future.
- 25TH JUNE 2008: STATEMENT BY FR JOHN JOYCE to Wirral Globe “Many parishioners have been fully informed and know exactly what is happening and support the Bishop. The message from the Vatican was clearly misunderstood, parts of that document were taken and misquoted”? The normal channel for communication in N.W.C.C. is via the weekly bulletin. Would Father John Joyce please explain:-
- a) How the “many parishioners” were “fully informed and know exactly what is happening.”?
- b) How he knows that they “support the Bishop”?
- c) How the “many” compare in number to the 83% of the parishioners who in the 2007 “options paper” opposed sharing with another denomination?
- d) How was the Vatican document misquoted? (See copy on Website)
